Karen seems the sweetest. I emailed her regarding buying another point and shoot and also, purchasing a additional SLR. The 40D I bought to replace the Rebel xi I had is heavy. I gave the xi to my son to take a lot of pics of the coming little one. So, I thought I should buy a Canon xsi and/or a new point and shoot. Karen quickly replied that I would get use to the weight-not too sure about that- and not to buy anything right now and that I would not be happy with a point and shoot. I have a point and shoot Sony Cybershot, but it's becoming aged; the telephoto button is stiff.
I love Karen's blog.
The following is my take on the framed photos Karen uses in her Workshop ad.
I used Kimi Kreations deckled frame, MLC Parker's Stocking Papers, French Laundry Photo Edges, Vol. 2 from 2 Peas, SMJ_Beloved_Buttons.
Off to take Jim to Miami University tomorrow for a referral visit; hope this is on the way to getting him well.

that is such a beautiful picture Susan! Good luck on your trip!!!! I think Karen is right, don't buy another point and shoot, you will hate all the noise! You will get used to the weight, I'm sure. My new Nikon is way heavier too
I too love karen's blog, but have not taken any of her classes. I see she's off to teach on a cruise. That should be our goal... to be asked to teach on a cruise. I love my Nikon D40 and am used to the weight now even with the 200 lens. Hang in there and am looking forward to seeing some amazing photos from you...you can do it, yours are already just so good.
Have fun with your class..I too took Candice's class and am thinking of "redoing" for I need to PRACTICE!! Love my NikonD40 but also throw my Kodak point and shoot into my pocketbook for those daily shots...

Lucky, lucky you to be taking Karen's classes! I've heard that they sell out in minutes.
Your work has been really beautiful, Susan!
Let me know what you think. I am on the waiting list. argh! You will get used to the weight! It's kind of like working out;D Gotta build up those muscles.
Can't wait to hear all about Karen's class--I know you'll have fun and learn lots of great stuff (hoping that you'll share a few tips here on your blog for the rest of us).
Oh I love this photo of you and your daughter!!!
